Three students injured after cement plaster falls in classroom

Mumbai, Jun 19: A video surfaced showing a portion of cement plaster drop from the ceiling of a classroom and injure the students who were sitting underneath. This incident took place in the Jhulelal Trust school in Ulhasnagar, here.

The video shows the students vacating the class after the cement plaster fell, it also showed a couple of students in agony after suffering head injuries because of the drop.

The incident took place on Tuesday June 18 around afternoon while the class was in session. The injured have been identified as Jia Tekchandani (16), Ishika Chugh (14), and Dia Bhatija (15).

The parents reached the school after the school management informed them about the situation. The management stated that it was a minor accident and injuries sustained were not fatal. Once first aid was provided to the injured students they were asked to go home.

One of the parents of the students blamed the school management for the poor maintenance and called it a sign of negligence.

Yuvraj Bhadane, public relation officer of Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation said, "Following the incident our staff also visited school to find out the reason behind the incident."
