Mangaluru, Jun 16: Jeeth Milan Roche, who has dedicated himself to the cause of enriching nature and turning the environment greener, created a record of sorts on Saturday June 15 by planting 1,052 tree saplings in the graveyard at Nandigudda here. He was helped in the task by his wife and two children.

Jeeth has been a hard-working activist of National Environment Care Foundation (NECF).

Jeeth has earned fame because of his untiring endeavour in planting trees since many years. He keeps planting the saplings all the 365 days of the year and then gets involved with taking care of them with the support of his family.

Jeeth and his family have been lauded by people for their selfless work for nature.

Those greedy politicians responsible for felling thousands of trees on the western ghats must be invited to see Mr. Jeeth Roche's noble deed.

It is not enough for us to thank and compliment Jeeth Milan Roche and congratulate him. All of us should introspect and see in what way we can also emulate him. All of us should join together and plant as many saplings as we can. Encourage the children to do that so that they grow up and imbibe this quality. If each one of us plants just one sapling, that would go a long way in bringing back the greenery to Mangalore and alleviate the water scarcity. Let us not lose sight of the fact that trees attract rain and rain is indispensable to give us water. Mr. Roche is rendering yeoman service and he is doing this for all of us. Not just for him and his family. All of us are going to benefit from what he does and let us also be selfless like him. For a change, let us also think about others.

Hats off to Jeet Milan Roche and his family for their selfless work in saving the environment. If all the people of Mlore had the same attitude....we wouldn't have been facing this water crisis in Mlore today.
It high time we all take responsibility and do our part of planting trees, water harvesting and composting our own garbage...if we want to leave a better Mlore for our children and the generations to come.
