Mangaluru, May 27: ‘One More Rep’, unisex gym, introduced Ninja Warrior, which is the first concept in the city, was inaugurated at Maroli on Sunday, May 26.
This is the first of its kind in the city introducing ‘Ninja Warrior concept’ at One More Rep. One More Rep unisex gym, which started a year ago, has now achieved the feat of introducing Ninja Warrior concept. This is something new to the people of city to take up the challenge of Ninja Warrior and grab cash prize of Rs one lac for completing the challenge.
Parish priest of Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte, Fr Prakash D’Cunha blessed the premises of Ninja Warrior.
Speaking to daijiworld.com, owner of One More Rep, Rohan Sagar Periera said, "We have introduced a new concept called Ninja Warrior training. This is basically inspired from the famous TV show on AXN, which is highly followed in other parts of the world. This is something new in India. We want people of the city to experience this particular sport. Most importantly, today’s do not have the platform to build their strength and confidence or their athletic skills. So we decided to start this particular flow dedicated to fitness of children and adults.
Pereira further said, "Basically the gym One More Rep exists since January 2018. So we are just starting the new segment adding new feather to our gym. Hopefully, people of the city will like this and support this venture and get the best benefit out of this.”
"Basically we provide fitness classes in Ninja Warrior floor and we have gym membership as well. But what is more unique is, we are offering children's fitness. We are offering private space for private gathering to organize a party with a fitness theme for a corporate event, birthday party or simple gathering to challenge your friends and family. The space is open for rent,” said Rohan Sagar.
Co-owner of One More Rep, Nichola Dafney said, "We offer lowest price in the city with this kind of ambience and facilities and we have also introduced something that is new and first time in India, which is called as Ninja Warrior. This is the only gym where you get rewarded for getting fit. We are holding events every three months, not only to become fit but also to get rewarded for working out and being fit.”
"People usually have a myth in their mind thinking that the minute they lift weight, they get bulky, they become like men, which is not true. Earlier not only women but everyone used to go for a walk. But because of the lifestyle these days, everybody has a vehicle so we hardly walk even for five minutes. So we need to have some kind of fitness schedule. Women especially lack kind of strength. Lifting weights makes you strong and more confident and beautiful within. So I think weight lifting is one of the most important thing not only for men but also for women,” said Nichola Dafney.
