Kadaba: Illegal cattle trafficking - One arrested, two animals rescued

Kadaba, May 23: Police personnel attached to the police station here intercepted a vehicle at Nelyottu on Golithady - Kudloor road in Koila village and arrested a person who was found to be transporting cattle illegally besides confiscating the vehicle. The arrest was made during the early hours of Wednesday May 22.

The arrested man has been identified as Muhammed Iqbal (38) from Kudloor in Koila village. After coming to know about cattle being transported in a pick-up vehicle, the police raided the spot. They found that a cow and a bull were being taken in a vehicle bearing Kerala registration number without any documentary support. The police have put the value of the cattle they rescued as Rs 5,000 and that of the vehicle, two lac rupees.

Reportedly, the police had information about Muhammed having been involved in illegal cattle transportation since the last several years, but he had succeeded in evading arrest.
