Panaji, May22: Ensuring BJP’s victory in Goa, state president and Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar on Tuesday said, “We will win south Goa by a 4,000 margin; the hard work of the Karyakartas at the booth-level will ensure BJP’s victory.”

Elections for two Lok Sabha seats and four byelections were held in Goa. Though the party had tough competition in south Goa, Tendulkar is confident about winning both Lok Sabha seats. “A lot of people have voted for BJP because they want Prime Minister Narendra Modi to continue as PM. Even people we do not know have voted for Modi in Goa,” he said.

Guaranteeing BJP's success in all four bypolls he said, “We are 100% sure we will win three seats. In Panaji, we are neck to neck, but we will win the seat.” BJP has faced a deadlocked fight in Panaji to tackle the antipathy on BJP candidate Sidharth Kuncalienkar.

Since 1994 Parrikar has won the Panaji seat except on two occasions when he was defence minister. He had chosen Kuncalienkar to contest from Panaji in the 2015 byelections and 2017 assembly elections.
