Opposition raising EVM issue unnecessarily: NDA

New Delhi, May 22 (IANS): Opposition parties had raised doubts on the EVMS "unnecesarily" and the act was out of "desperation" of losing the election, NDA leaders said on Tuesday after their meeting ahead of counting of votes on May 23.

"We expressed concern over the opposition raising unnecessary doubts on the EVMs and the integrity of the Election Commission. Especially, when the Supreme Court has given its judgements," Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rajnath Singh told reporters.

He said the Opposition was trying to create hurdles in the Indian election system, which can be "a global brand".

Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan said the opposition knew that they were losing the elections.

"They want an excuse. Why did they not blame EVMs when they won three states. Why not when they won Punjab," he said.

Paswan also said that the official results would be better than the exit polls, which showed the the NDA winning over 300 seats.

A total of 36 constituent parties of the National Democratic Alliance had participated in the meeting while three could not.

Besides the BJP, the AIADMK, the Shiv Sena, the Janata Dal-United), the Lok Janshakti Party, the Shiromani Akali Dal, the Apna Dal (Sonelal), and the PMK were among the parties that attended the meeting.

Other parties present included the Sikkim Democratic Front, the Republican Party of India-A, the Bodoland People's Front, the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, the All India N.R. Congress, the National People's Party, the Goa Forward Party, the All Jharkhand Students Union, the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura, the DMDK, the Bharath Dharmajana Sena, the Kerala Congress-Thomas, the Asom Gana Parishad, the Nishad Party, the Naga People's Front and the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha.

Haven’t seen a single BJP supporter blaming #EVMs when Oppn won in Delhi, Bihar, MP etc. Why is Congress-Left ecosystem so desperate?
Because old ruling order is in last gasps. A loss will end empire. It senses that.
So, frantic attacks on SC, EC, every institution.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rise in 2014 has been a very significant development in the political landscape of our country. This is no small change by any standards considering it pushed the Congress party, a party considered the natural choice for governance for long, to the margins. This was made possible by a wide acceptance of the alternate narrative set in motion by Modi.

Today, the Opposition needs to dispassionately analyse the current political scenario. Just harping on EVMs would not take them anywhere. What is required on their part is introspection on what went wrong and what lies ahead. The Opposition needs to present an alternate vision and programme that has the potential to take the country to newer heights. Individual bashing or making the EVM the fall guy would not yield any result.

If they mean business, all Opposition parties should build a common front, choose a leader to represent them in the coming Lok Sabha, and chart out their plan and policies. This would certainly put a new government on its toes. Who wins if that happens? Clearly, our democracy.

These are not gossips but stated facts, accepted by the election official themselves,

    1. There are incidents of faulty EVM machines, where each faulty machine voted only for BJP.
    2. There are people in CRPF clothes asking people to vote for BJP, this was unprecedented in the history.
    3. There are large evidences of EVM's moving around unauthorized. There is no security cover or police protection for their movement. This is a violation as accepted by EC itself. Yet, some EC official gives a presser says all those EVM's are accounted and the transport is authorized. Both can not be true.
    4. BJP finds no offense in any of these acts.
    5. There is an absolute bias showed by EC in favor of BJP for poll violation conduct of candidates.

It is clear case of hanky - panky going around. They might be just a futile attempts to subvert poll outcome or many attempts yielded results.

The only way truth can prevail is EC official acting in unbiased, transparent and conduct in fair manner. Any obvious violation could be truly disastrous for the country.

    Dear Mr Ahmed,

Having confidence on EVM bjp not blamed EVM's performance during its defeat in 3 state assembly election.
Why not congress raised its doubt about the efficiency of EVM during the result of these 3 states assembly election?
Now a days people are well enough to judge who is corrupt, who is lair, who is original indian, who is outsider, who love and take care of indian country and its army.
These plays a vital role while casting ones vote .
    I think you got answer.

EVM machine can be controlled . and automatically it can change vote in fair of party who made this idea. this software is developed such a was that after voting it will show what button we press it shows same . and once its uploaded to the memory of EVM with a hour it will automatically change vote to fairly party . and even EVM can connect through satellite like how we can take password wifi ......with its code...... this is how EVM machine is built ruling party friendly .........
so this will be a major backdrop for opposition party to win ........
because ratio of opposition party wining margin is only 10 percent.......
