Udupi: Two-wheeler skid - rider killed, pillion rider seriously injured

Udupi, May 20: Motor bike rider, Subrahmanya (23), died on the spot while the pillion rider, Hitesh (19), suffered serious injuries after the two-wheeler on which the two were travelling skidded off the road on national highway 66 near Santhekatte Junction on Sunday May 19.

Subrahmanya was riding the motor bike with his friend, Hitesh, in the pillion. They were returning after attending the Mehndi programme of a friend organized at Haleangady, when this tragic accident happened near Santhekatte Junction. It is said that after the bike went out of the control of the rider, both of them were lodged by the roadside with great force. Subrahmanya lost his life on the spot. Hitesh stands admitted into a hospital at Manipal.

Ssubrhamanya was working for a private firm. He was the only son of his mother and had shouldered the responsibility of running the family, it is gathered. A case about the accident was filed in the traffic police station here.
