Mangaluru: Jonas Samson and wife Victoria arrested for Shreemathi murder

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, May 15: In connection with the Shreemathi Shetty murder, the police have claimed that they have solved the mystery with the arrest of a husband-wife duo.

The arrested persons happen to be Jonas Samson (36), a resident of Attavar here, currently living at Sooterpet, Valencia, and his wife, Victoria Mathias (46).

It is said that Jonas had borrowed Rs 1 lac from Shreemathi Shetty, and he had repaid a part of the borrowing. It is learnt that Shreemathi had requested Jonas to repay the balance amount of Rs 60.000 at the earliest, but he had not cleared the due.

Jonas Samson  and Victoria Mathias

Police at Press Meet

On May 11, Shreemathi went to the residence of Jonas to collect the balance amount due to her. On that occasion, she was attacked with lethal weapons by the duo and murdered. The murder was committed relating to financial dealings.

The police were clueless about the identity of the murderers and the motive of murder. After employing different methodologies and techniques, they zeroed in on the crime plot and succeeded in solving the case, said city police commissioner, Sandeep Patil, addressing a press meet here on Wednesday.

The police personnel, during investigation, recovered a two-wheeler used by Shreemathi, a golden chain as well as eight finger rings worn by the deceased.

Shreemathi Shetty

Jonas tried to end his life when police arrested him. Later he was admitted to a hospital for treatment.

The police commissioner said that about 30 police personnel had involved themselves with the investigation and that the team would be rewarded suitably.

Shreemathi Shetty was found murdered on Sunday.

Police investigation team

Recovered items

Inspector Jagadish, PSI CCB Kabbal Raj , ACP Hegde and staff members of CCB, Crime, Pandeshwar, Kankanady and central sub-division were involved in the investigations.

Extraordinarily fishy case! After the arrest of this couple, the case has become more suspicious than ever. Why?
    1. Just look at the faces, they certainly don’t look normal, and very certainly don’t seem to have the intelligence and the craft to carry out this murder so tactfully.
    2. Financial? Chopping a dead body into bits and pieces for 60,000/-!!!!
    3. Are the cops under extreme pressure to curb the killers?

The murder is carried out, well planned and with revenge. Evidence of cutting limbs and body parts, suggest that killer was in uncontrollable fury. The killer has exhibited abnormal anger and incredible sharpness in finishing the victim and hiding clues. This case is still open and killer is out there somewhere...

From the looks of it, it appears the victim is a professional pvt moneylender, who charge such high interest that nobody can get out of their trap once inside!! Otherwise nobody would lend even 5000 bucks to an unrelated food vendor!

These loan sharks are very dangerous people and use all possible methods to get the money back; in such a situation the loan taker has to commit suicide or do the opposite, almost impossible to escape as they have contacts both with thugs and law enforcers!

The above is my assumption seeing the way victim has been butchered!!

Have heard of several ladies in and around mangalore who lend money at 10%/pm! Take 1 lad loan, minus 10 k interest in advance!! Then they even take post dated checks as security!!

First of all, lending money was wrong.
Secondly, even if the couple had refused to pay as they could not, it was not like end of the world.
There was no need to resort to this dastardly act.

Money is the biggest impediment and spoils all relationship. Some words of wisdom - NEVER flaunt your riches in the public. NEVER open up your big mouth. NEVER declare your assets to anyone.

Most Important : Put your feet firm on the ground and outrightly REFUSE to help others financially ... never mind even if you have to make enemies. It's your money. You have every right to do so. Don't regret tomorrow.

That's the fundamental of today's existence.

For the sake of Rs.60,000 they have murdered. If both, husband and wife worked as cooly, they could have saved minimum Rs.3000/- per week.
