Mumbai, May 7: A differently abled student with cerebral palsy, scoring an impressive 90.4% marks in the CBSE class X exam, wants to peruse humanities for her higher studies.

A student of Rajhans Vidyalaya in Andheri, Mamta Nayak performed well in the exam without any tuition classes or special coaching. Mamta has difficulty in speech and walking.

During an interview with TOI her mother said, “She requires a walker to get around and also needs physiotherapy daily. I think it is extremely important for educational institutions to be inclusive, without discriminating against students with special needs. Students, whether they suffer from physical or cognitive impairment, should be at least given a chance to prove their mettle.”
