In her speech she said, “Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder. It is characterized with a broad range of challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviours, speech and nonverbal communication. Autistic individuals have both strengths and weaknesses like any normal child. Schools everywhere should promote inclusion of such children into the educational environment. Parents and teachers have to know autism is a disorder or a disability rather than a disease, so that they will be able to embrace their differences.
