Kadaba: Villager beaten up by policeman admitted into hospital

Kadaba, Apr 23: Ramanna Gowda (55) from Kombaru, who reportedly was beaten up and injured by a police constable in the town on Sunday, was admitted into the community hospital here for treatment.

Ramanna was moving along with the procession connected the the annual festival in the town. It is said that he was holding a stone in his hand and cursing someone.
A police constable attached to the police station here reportedly attacked Ramanna with his baton. This video soon became viral in social networks, and a number of people had expressed opinion against the police brutality.

A social worker, Jayan T from Ichalampady, who learnt about the incident, admitted Ramana Gowda into the community hospital here. He has demanded for the suspension of the police constable concerned and initiation of legal steps against him. He said he would be filing complaint about this incident with Karnataka Human Rights Commission and state home minister.
