Mangaluru: Salumarada Thimmakka, Ramakrishna Mission chosen for Rotary Vandana Award

Mangaluru Apr 23: Eminent environmentalist, Bengaluru based Padmashree Salumarada Thimmakka and Ramakrishna Mission, here have been chosen for the prestigious state level Rotary annual 'Vandana Award — 2019' in recognition of their invaluable contributions in the field of environmental protection and empowerment.

The award is jointly instituted by Rotary Club of Mangalore Central and Rotaract Club of Mangaluru city, which will be conferred on Padmashree Salumarada Thimmaka and Ramakrishna Mission, here in appreciation of their exemplary achievements in the field of environmental empowerment.

The award comprises of a citation, plaque and memento.



CEO, DK Zilla Panchayath Dr Selvamani will grace the occasion as chief guest and will felicitate the awardees in a function to be held on Friday 26 at 8.00 pm at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru.

President of Rotary Club of Mangalore Central Rtn P P Santhosh Shet will preside over the function. Rotary dist asst governor Rtn Kiran Prasad Rai and dist Rotaract representative elect Rtr Ganesh G T will be the guests of honour on this occasion.

Rotary Club and Rotaract Club annually confer their prestigious state level Vandana Award to achievers in the field of sports, literature, industry, business, banking, music, Science, art, culture and social service as part of their Vocational I Service projects as revealed by Award Committee chairman Dr Devdas Rai.

Rotary Club president Rtn Santhosh Shet, secretary Rtn Joel Lobo, Rotaract president Rtr Ganesh and secretary Sheldon Crasta were present at the press meet.
