Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School promotes World Earth Day through 'Protect Our Species' theme

Mangaluru, Apr 22: World Earth Day was observed by Lourdes Central School with a morning assembly by the students of class X on April 22.

The day began by invoking God’s blessing through a prayer song. Anjali gave an inspiring thought on Earth.

It is a day held to promote and show environmental awareness and calls for the security of our planet. The importance of the day was given by Simran highlighting the theme for World Earth Day - 'Protect Our Species'.

The hopeful news is that the extinction rate can be further slowed and many of our threatened, declining and endangered species can still recuperate if we work together.

A melodious song on earth was sung by Prakrithi Monteiro and Erika.

The principal Fr Robert D’Souza insisted that the students save the species by spreading awareness. Students prepared a beautiful chart on the theme 'Protect Our Species' which was displayed on the lobby notice board.

Trisha Rai compered the programme.
