Bengaluru: Periyapatna registers four cm rainfall - more rain predicted

Bengaluru, Apr 18: Periyapatna in Mysuru district registered four cm of rainfall during the 24 hours ended 8.30 am on Thursday, April 18. This was the highest rainfall for the day in entire Karnataka.

Konananur, Channarayanapatna, and Bengaluru got an average of two cm rainfall. The meteorological department has predicted rain with thunder in a few places within south interior Karnataka. South interior places in the state are affected because of trough and surface wind. The rain has brought down temperature in these areas. The department said that Bengaluru, Chamarajanagar, Hassan, Kodagu, and Ramanagar districts might get scattered rainfall till April 19.

In the meantime, highest temperatures of 40.7 and 40.5 degree celsius were recorded in Kalaburagi and Raichur respectively.
