Mangaluru, Mar 26: Gold ornaments worth six lac rupees have reportedly gone missing from the residence of Celina Correa (59), residing at Parappade near Akash Bhavan here.

It is said that Celina was away visiting a relative at Chikkamagaluru from February 1 to March 1. The keys of the house were handed over to domestic servant, Lata Maria Lasrado, for maintenance of the house during Celina's absence. Celina came back after being away for a month, and the domestic servant continued to attend to work even thereafter. Recently an inspection of the ornaments revealed that ornaments worth six lac rupees kept inside an almirah had gone missing.

The servant stopped visiting Celina's house after some days since she returned from Chikkamagaluru. In the meantime, the fact that gold ornaments had gone missing came to light. Thereafter, Celina filed complaint in Kavoor police station about the incident.

The police are likely to interrogate the domestic servant about the missing ornaments.
