Fake accounts of Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant pop up on social media


Panaji, Mar 24 (IANS): Amid a slew of fake accounts popping up in the name of Goa's new Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on social media, the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) on Sunday was forced to issue a statement specifying its official social media handles.

"The following are official social media handles of the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant. http://www.facebook.com/DrPramodPSawant, https://www.twitter.com/DrPramodPSawant, http://www.instagram.com/DrPramodPSawant," the CMO tweeted on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Twitter users pointed to fake accounts popping up in the Goa Chief Minister's name on the social media and tagged Sawant in their tweets.

"Goa k cm Pramod Sawant ji Naam pe kuch log fake account chala Raha hain...yeh sab conspiracy hain bjp k against...Abhi maine kisi se kaha toh usne tweet delete karke apna twitter handle ka Naam bhi change kar diya...so please be careful," Twitter user @Mimi46764728 said.
