Hassan, Mar 22: “A Lokpal is appointed in the country. But he has no eyes, ears or legs,” criticized retired justice Santhosh Hegde.
“There is no connection between Karnataka Lokayuktha and Lokpal. The Lokpal is created on orders from Supreme court.
“Some are saying that the Lokpal is appointed because the elections are approaching, but the reality is the concerned government would have to face court punishment if otherwise,” he said.
The union government which was being criticized for not appointing Lokpal even after five years since Lokpal organization was formed five years ago to control corruption as per Act appointed P C Ghosh as the first Lokpal of the country a few days ago.
