Puttur: Minor girl student kidnap case - man from Assam arrested

Puttur, Mar 22: The police, who had traced the minor girl student two days ago, who went missing from the Keyyoor village near here 14 days ago, were successful in arresting the accused in Bengaluru on Thursday, March 21 as per the police sources.

The minor girl student in question was missing from March 8, the same day as the mason of Assam origin, Akhtar Hussain also went missing. Bhaskar Poojary, the father of the minor girl had complained with the police expressing suspicion on Akhtar of kidnapping his daughter. Sampya police had registered a case in this regard.

The police had started their search operation centering on Akhtar Hussain. However, the mobile phones of both the minor girl student and the accused were in switched-off mode. But they got the information that the accused is on his way to Mangaluru from Puttur.

The police were able to trace the minor girl student two days ago. Now they have arrested the accused in Bengaluru.
