New Delhi, Mar 19(IT): Harayana BJP minister Anil Vij on Tuesday asked Congress workers to add "pappu" prefix to their Twitter name. The development comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi started #MainBhiChowkidar campaign on Twitter.

Anil Vij advised Congress workers on Twitter to add #Pappu to their names, adding that no one from BJP will object to it.

"We have added #Chowkidar to our names and you have a problem with that. You should also prefix #Pappu to your names and we will have no objection," Vij said in a tweet.

The term 'Pappu' has been historically used by the BJP cadre to mock Congres president Rahul Gandhi.

PM Modi and several ministers from the party add "Chowkidar" prefix to their Twitter name on Sunday, following which Congress party members including Rahul Gandhi attacked the BJP, accusing it of corruption in the Rafale fighter jet deal.

#ChowkidarChorHai is a common hashtag used by Congress party members to attack PM Modi and other BJP minister.

However, #MainBhiChowkidar emerged as a top trend on Twitter after it was started on Saturday.

It seems that BJP has won the online battle with 1.5 million tweets on its hashtag. Chowkidar, which literally means watchman, has been used as a prefix by many supporters of PM Modi as well.

    First of all the title adopted by Feku isn't complete. It should be :-
    "Main Chawkidaar Chor Hoon"
    "Instead of Main Bhi Chawkidaar"

    Where are the Rafale files ?????

    Why Congress party workers should copy BJP ? Its been a trend that BJP copied all what Congress did in the past with just a name change. This time too they copied the title given by the Congress party president, for a prefix !

    BJP hardly won that battle. Rather the Congress kinda forced the BJP to switch their hashtags ever so often. from Phir ek baar modi sarkar, to modi hai to mumkin hai to main hoon chowkidar to what next?

    also twitteratti who used main hoon chowkidar were the opposition too to mock the PM's shameless name-changing and for someone who did nothing for the actual security guards of this country. watch Ravish Kumars video of yesterday and you will understand.

    They know Chowkidhar was made Pappu by Rahul, now they want to justify by these narratives.
    Chowkidhar of a few rich people India doesn't need but a visionary leader who rises above party & be a statesman who doesn't attack his opponent below the belt & uses a decent language inside or outside Parliament is what 21st Century India needs.
