Udupi, Mar 19: “All the political parties should strictly follow model election code of conduct,” said deputy commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati.
Presiding over a meeting of political parties held here in her office on Monday March 18 she said that all the political parties should themselves make sure that there are no violations of the code. “They should stay away from activities that influence the voters,” she said.
“The election commission has kept an eye on media campaigns besides public campaigns. Political parties should take precautions in this connection. They should not give room for misuse of media for any reason,” she said.
Additional deputy commissioner Vidyakumari, election tahsildar Mohammed Isaq and leaders of different political parties were present.
