Mangaluru, Mar 19: Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Kinnigoli deanery will hold its silver jubilee celebration, in association with Lawrence D'Souza, a well-known singer, with ‘Sangeeth Sangam-2’ at Kinnigoli Church Grounds on Sunday, April 27.

The funds raised during the event will go to the medical expenses of financially backward cancer patients. The programme will start at 6 pm.

The mega event will be attended many dignitaries from the community and society. Youths from seven parishes of Kinnigoli deanery will jointly participate in the event along with a large number of laity. Along with melodious songs and enthralling music, the event contains dance performances and comedy skits by talents from Kinnigoli deanery. The music programme will be led by Lawrence D'Souza, Palimar.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Fr Rahul, convener of organising committee said, “We are trying to make this event a memorable one in the history of Kinnigoli deanery. Last year, we inaugurated the silver jubilee year and conducted various programmes throughout the year. With ‘Sangeeth Sangam-2019’, we are concluding the silver jubilee year celebrations. During the event, we will felicitate youth achievers of the deanery and those who led the organisation in the last 25 years. Lawrence D'Souza and his team will be the special attraction of the event. I request everyone to attend the event in large numbers."

Lawrence D’Souza was an amateur singer, but his love for music prompted him to bring out a complete music album by bringing together experienced music composers, singers, and lyricists. In his first project ‘Istageeth’ itself, he showed the world how passionate he is about music. His second album ‘Chintlam’ was a special album with variety of songs which succeeded in creating new waves in the Konkani world of music. Lawrence is also a director of Daijiworld Media Group.

Besides producing music albums, Lawrence succeeded in making his songs reach to all corners of the world by creative music app ‘LVL Tunes'. By introducing this app, he became the first person in Konkani world to use modern technology for the distribution of songs. Apart from his songs, LVL Tunes also contains albums of other singers and musicians. His first musical nite ‘Sangeeth Sangam’ was held at St Pius Church ground, Palimar on December 25 last year.
