Udupi, Mar 18: Dinesh Amin Mattu, a journalist and thinker, said that Pejawar Swamiji must define as to who is a real Hindu.

H e was speaking at Sarva Janotsava, a non-political programme organised by Sahabalve to uphold the principles of peace, brotherhood and unity at Royal garden Kalsanka here on Sunday, March 17.

“Let people remember the faces of RSS before voting. Today our houses are set on fire. We are divided on the basis of religion. Let Pejawar Swamiji answer as to who are Hindus? Swamiji is cheating the religion by supporting one particular party and mixing it with politics.

“Udupi is a land of harmony. Christian leader Oscar Fernandes was selected to Rajya Sabha from 1980-96 (five times). People voted him without looking at his religion. Today, an effort is being done to break that unity. I was thinking that developments works, done by Congress is not at all the reason for its failure, but there is something beyond that. There is wrong perception in people's mind that, Congress always supports Muslims.

“Today some anti- Congress people are saying that, they will change constitution of India. Making India a Hindu nation itself is against to Indian Constitution. RSS is an anti-organisation to our constitution. Let them define 'Who are real Hindus?” he said.

“If so called Hindus are fighting with Muslims, what injustice did they do to them in the last five years? Let them come directly and contest in the election without wearing any mask. JD(S) senior leader H D Devegowda and H D Kumaraswamy are real Hindus, because they believe and worship all gods. But still people are opposing them. Why it is happening?” questioned Dinesh Mattu.

Another guest, Shiva Sundar, a columnist and journalist said in his keynote address, “As many as 111 CRPF soldiers have died in external attack but 150 paramilitary soldiers have committed suicide due to internal terrorism. Government is a servant of people. Article 15 A talks about spirit of enquiry. There were 17000 farmers who lost their lives in the nation. If robbery becomes politics, killing innocents is also a politics. Leading fearless life and getting unlimited knowledge is true freedom. But today what we are seeing is not dream India, what we had in our mind earlier.

There is less freedom to media in India today and has occupied 138th rank in the world. GDP growth has decreased. Unemployment rate has increased to 7.5%. The government of India is not allowing release of statistical report. It is trying to hide the truth.

Shiva Sundar further said, “A fearful environment is prevailing in India. Out of additional profit of Rs 1 lac crore, Rs 28,000 crore of the profit is going to Ambani's treasure. Politics is becoming Modism, economy is becoming Ambanism, and media is becoming Arnub Goswamism.

“Demonetisation is a sin to our country. It is a plan of making black money white. A Kashmir clean-up operation was conducted to kill 4 terrorists, but 200 Kashmiri youths have become terrorists, which is more dangerous. I stand by our army forces. Anil Ambani has taken the profit of Rs 60000 crore in Rafale scam. Any decision related to army, government takes the initiative, but not the army. Politics is a answer to battle not war. Modi says 'those who are jobless, let them do Pakoda. But youth are asking for secure job. Do they get pension from selling Pakoda?” he questioned.

Since four years many small industries have lost its existence because of anti- industrial. We should create awareness among public. As many as 8 to 10 crore people have lost jobs. Black money transaction is happening online not in cash, he added.

Earlier, Siddha Basava Kabira Maha Swamiji of Shankar's Deva Guru Peeta Kalburagi inaugurated the programme.

There were other speakers G N Nagaraj, leader CPI (M), Y SV Datta, president of publicity committee, JD(S), Shivasundar, columnist and journalist Bengaluru, Mahendra Kumar, social thinker, Indhudhar Honnapur, Dalit thinker and journalist, Fr Chethan Lobo, editor of Ujwad magazine, Abdussalam Puttige, general editor, Varthabharathi daily news paper, V R Sudarshan, former speaker Legislative council.

District Muslim Okkoota president Yasin Malpe, thinker G Rajashekar, Shekhar Kotian, JDS district president Yogish Shetty, district president of Credai Jerry Vincent Dias, Ashok Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Alwyn Quadres, Prashant Jathanna, S Vijay Puthran, Bogra Koraga, Janet Barboza and others were present.
