Congress leader and Sonia aide Tom Vadakkan joins BJP

New Delhi, March 14 (IANS): Congress spokesperson Tom Vadakkan, who was considered close to party leader Sonia Gandhi, on Thursday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Vadakkan said he was deeply hurt at the way the Congress questioned the integrity of the armed forces after the suicide bombing at Pulwama led to India-Pakistan tensions.

"I gave my prime of life to the Congress. But dynastic politics is now at its zenith in the party... There's no place in it for self-respecting people," he said.

This is the reason Vadakkan quit Congress - "Congress questioned the integrity of the armed forces after the suicide bombing at Pulwama led to India-Pakistan tensions." Common sense at its best.

Party and persons keeps on changing.
Politicians are basically public servants, not self servers. They can't get votes to serve themselves.
Whichever PARTY provides them better platform to serve their people, according to their best judgement, one may choose to remain.

I think may be he will give a try for 2019 and 2025. After that surely no, he will quit.

That might be good for congress, as there are many good leaders who are in side because of RG.

Vadakkan....it's good for you to leave congress and joining BJP. But one must remember all those majority leaders who were with congress have deserted congress and are in other parties. Even Sharad Pawar is an example. All said and done....in congress party if someone is showing any tantrum, then nobody cares for such tantrums. So ultimately he or she will join some other party. But the grand old party has seen ups and downs. It will not make any difference to them. Maximum they will win or lose, and it is part and parcel of the game. But BJP buys with money and threat and this BJP party has no morals or public respect. For them money and politics at the cost of our Jawans
