Kundapur: Assault on youth in bus at Sastan, accused men arrested

Kundapur, Mar 14: Kota police arrested the accused in a case that occurred on Monday, March 11 at Sastan toll gate, in which a gang assaulted a youth travelling in the bus.

A gang of men assaulted Udaya Poojary (27), a resident of Parampalli. The arrested accused are Rohan, Ranjit Kalmady, Vikas, Gautam and Kishan, all residents of Kotathattu Barikere.

Udaya, who is working as a mechanic in Udupi, was going to work on the morning of Monday, March 11, when the accused attacked him and threatened with life. Udaya, who was injured in the attack is admitted to the government hospital of Udupi and case in this regard is registered in the Kota police station.

Local women urge strict action against the accused

"Cases against some of the accused are already registered in the police station. If these hooligans are allowed to carryout their nuisance, then the peace of the society will be disturbed. So the police have to take stringent action against the arrested accused, without coming under any sort of political pressure," appealed more than 30 local women, who submitted an appeal in the Kota police station.
