Air India gets hijack threat on phone, CISF to follow enhanced security measures

New Delhi, Feb 23(PTI): Air India's Mumbai control centre on Saturday received a phone call threatening to hijack its plane, following which Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) ordered all airlines and CISF to follow specific enhanced measures to ensure security, according to an official note.

"A telephonic message received by the station duty office, AI (Air India) AOCC (Airport Operation Control Centre) Mumbai, stating information regarding a threat to Indian Airlines flight getting hijacked to Pakistan on 23.2.2019," stated the BCAS note dated February 23.

The note added, "In view of the above, APSU (Airport Security Unit)/ASG (Aviation Security Group) and all aircraft operators shall adopt the following (eight) measures with immediate effect."

Both APSU and ASG are part of the Central Industrial Security Force. Indian Airlines is a part of the Air India only.

According to BCAS note, the measures to be followed are:

Strict access control to regulate entry to terminal building, airside, all operational area and other aviation facilities.

Intensive checking of vehicles entering car parking area to preclude possibility of car bomb attacks.

Enhanced screening of passengers, staff and visitors including enhanced random screening at the main gate.

Enhanced screening and protection of hold baggage, cargo, cargo terminal, catering, mails, etc.

Surveillance through CCTV cameras as well as manual surveillance in and around the terminal building and operational areas.

Quick reaction team and perimeter patrolling to be strengthened.

Manning of all cargo gates and vehicle entry gates will be strengthened with strong armed support.

Any other security measures based on local intelligence inputs.

The Parliament had passed Anti-Hijacking (Amendment) Bill in 2014 in order to lay down new protocol to deal with hijacking of an airplane.

"The Bill provides death punishment for the offence of hijacking, where such offence results in the death of a hostage or of a security personnel; or with imprisonment for life and the moveable and immoveable property of such persons shall also be liable to be confiscated," the central government said in a statement on December 3, 2014.

For the sake of the nation, this time don't allow Intelligence Bureau chief Ajit Doval who is also a member of Vivekananda Foundation of RSS affiliation to handle the crisis. Last he botched the crisis and allowed GAVE NEW LEASE OF LIFE TO THE MOST WANTED TERRORIST AZHAR MASOOD.
It was Indian Government led by senior RSS ideologue and leader, Atal Bihari Vajpayee in December 1999. This chronic hate-monger entered Indian Kashmir in order to give impetus to the terrorist activities in the Valley in the early 1990s but was arrested in February 1994 and put in the Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu, to face charges of war against India. However, he was released in exchange for the passengers of IAC’s plane which was hijacked on the eve of X-Mas, December 24, 1999. He was released with two other dreaded terrorists, namely, Ahmed Umar Saeed Sheikh and Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar. They were released unconditionally as per the demand of the Taliban patronized JeM. These terrorists were picked up from the Kot Bhalwal Jail and put up in a special plane to Taliban controlled Kandahar, Afghanistan accompanied by the then foreign minister, Jaswant Singh. Indian minister, a darling of RSS then personally handed over these terrorists to the hijackers on December 31 who were allowed to sneak into Pakistan by the Taliban militants.
Incidentally, the current National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval was the IB chief at that time who also headed the 4-member Indian negotiation team at Kandahar which led to the release of these dreaded terrorists!
His son British citizen is having a major business interest in Defence sector which is against the law of the land.
All these attempts are to deflect the attention of voters from PM Modi's government policy failure and corruption. In this crisis of Pulwama, most of our self-censored media fail to report the Supre Court lookout notice for ICIC bank former Director Kochar in Videocon loans. In 2014 Videocon remains on the main poll campaigner of BJP.'
