Bantwal, Feb 21: The mortal remains of Francis Asis D'Souza (30), resident of Peruvai Adka, was found lying by the roadside near Peruvai post office on Wednesday February 20.

Francis was working as an assistant to a mason. He had left for work on Tuesday morning, but had not returned home. On Wednesday morning, his lifeless body was found.

The police patrol team arrived and arranged for security in the area. Vittal probationary deputy superintendent of police, Govind Raj, visited the spot. As the locals expressed suspicion about the young man's death, the police got postmortem of the body performed at Deralakatte hospital.

On the basis of complaint lodged by the father of the deceased, a case was registered in Vittal police station.
