Women, children used to ferry Pulwama explosive: Intelligence sources

New Delhi, Feb 20 (IANS): Women and children helped terrorists to ferry the deadly explosive RDX grade 5 (for military use) and ammonium nitrate from transit point Tral in Pulwama district in south Kashmir in carrying out a suicide attack on a CRPF convoy on February 14, intelligence sources told IANS.

More than 40 Central Reserve Police Force troopers were killed when a local suicide bomber, Aadil Dar, rammed his SUV into a bus carrying the troopers from Jammu to Srinagar.

The sources said the trigger for the explosive was manufactured locally and that ammonium nitrate was used as an oxidizer in the RDX explosive.

The attack took place on Jammu-Srinagar highway near Latoomode in Pulwama around 3.33 p.m. on February 14, stunning the over 2,500 troopers who were part of the convoy.

The military grade RDX was procured from across the border and the device was assembled around 10 km from the blast site, the sources said.

India is ranked 4th as a military power in the world, the fastest growing economy, its foreign currency reserves have surpassed all past collections, it has the third largest number of billionaires, it has installed the largest statue in the world with an airport attached, it is building infrastructure for one of the fastest ‘bullet train’ worth billions of dollars, its PM has travelled to and fro by air to 93 countries in first four years of his term, Indian PM, President and Vice-President have at their disposal modern; state of the art, big aircrafts like US President but we were not able to provide air transport to defenders of the nation!
    1. Who made hundreds of brave CRPF personnel to ride buses on journey from Srinagar to Jammu thus making them sitting duck for the terrorists? Why were they not air-lifted?

By threatening Kashmiris, angry ‘nationalists’ are fulfilling Pakistan’s plan. The attack that killed 40 CRPF men was the result of monumental failures by the political leadership and security officers on the ground. Punitive action by India must begin at home – against negligent officials.

    2. THE RSS/BJP RULERS BOAST THAT UNDER MODI’S STEWARDSHIP INDIAN STATE IS A MASCULINE STATE AND DAYS OF INDIA BEING SOFT STATE ARE OVER. THEN WHY DESPITE A HUGE DEFENCE, INTELLIGENCE BOTH MILITARY AND POLICE, IB, RAW PARAPHERNALIA WE COULD NOT DETECT THE PULWAMA CONSPIRACY? WILL ANYBODY FROM POLITICAL, CIVIL AND MILITARY LEADERSHIP BE HELD RESPONSIBLE?

Unfortunately our premier intelligence units like CBI, NIA, NSA are diluted to save the government for its own corruption. The intelligence sources are misused to target political opponents instead of terrorists.

    3. Last month an American intelligence advisory had warned of communal violence in India in the name of elections, the Chief Minister asked, "Why was action not taken despite this intelligence report?
