Five killed as car, truck collide in Haryana


Chandigarh, Feb 20 (IANS): At least five people, including a woman and two children, were killed when a car collided with a speeding truck in Haryana's Jhajjar district on Wednesday morning, police said.

Four of the victims were from the same family and were headed to Delhi to attend a function. The accident took place on the Jhajjar-Kosli highway. Jhajjar is around 285 km from here.

Witnesses told the police that the truck dragged the Hyundai Santro car for almost 20 metres following the collision. The car had to be pulled out from under the truck using heavy machinery.

All occupants of the car died on the spot, police said.
