Kadaba: Man from Athoor breathes his last at Mecca

Kadaba, Feb 20: A person from Athoor in Koila village in the taluk passed away due to cardiac arrest in a mosque at Mecca on Tuesday February 19 afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Cheyyabba alias B N Puttumonu (67), a native of Athoor Naduangady in Koila village. Since sometime he was living at Bolumbuda in Hirebandady village.

Puttumonu had left for pilgrimage to Mecca along with wife Avvamma, sister, Sakeena, daughters-in-law, Maimuna and Sarbida, and grandson, Saleefa. All the six members of the family had left India on Saturday and reached Mecca on Sunday. On Sunday and Monday, the family took part in two Umrah rituals. On Tuesday, when offering the third Umrah, Puttumonu collapsed to the ground all of a sudden and passed away.

Puttumonu was functioning as bidi contractor. Recently he had adopted agriculture.
