Mangaluru: Carmel School pays homage to martyred soldiers through prayer service

Media Release

Mangaluru, Feb 19: The entire Carmel family bowed to each and every CRPF Jawan who sacrificed his life in service to the nation, prayed for the families of the martyrs and a fast recuperation for the injured through a prayer service.

A video elucidating the rigorous life of a soldier was shown to the students that was indeed a moving experience for them.

Sister Maria Sarika, the principal said, “A soldier stands for fidelity, resoluteness, chivalry and discipline. His example serves as a beacon light to us when we are timorous and craven. They leave their families, their associates and all the comfort to secure our comfort. We can never afford to pay the debt of their service and sacrifice. Hope those responsible for this horrible terror attack will be brought to justice and made to pay for this atrocious act. May their souls rest in peace.”

At the end of the prayer service the students and teachers lit candles and observed a five minute silence to pay homage to the victims.
