Kashmiri studying at Bengaluru College held for hailing Jaish suicide bomber

Bengaluru, Feb 17(PTI): A Kashmiri student studying at a college here was on Saturday arrested for allegedly hailing the Jaish terrorist who carried out the suicide attack at Pulawama killing 40 CRPF Jawans, police said.

They said 23-year-old Tahir Latif from Baramula district is a student of Rewa University.

He had allegedly put up a screen-shot of the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist Adil Ahmed and the bodies of the slain soldiers as his display picture on WhatsApp, police said.

He had also allegedly put up a status message saying, "A big salute to this brave man!!! May Allah accept your Shahadat and give you highest place in Jannah #Shaheed Adil Bhai," police said.

Based on a student's complaint, a case was registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 and various IPC sections, including 120(B) (criminal conspiracy), police said.

Earlier, following a complaint by Vishwa Hindu Parishad office bearer Girish Bharadwaj, a case was registered here against Kashmiri youth Abid Malik for allegedly posting derogatory remarks on a social networking site.

The case was registered under relevant sections of the IPC and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, for a post he wrote on Facebook.

The youth allegedly shared some images posted by a news channel after the attack and captioned it 'The real surgical attack' on his FB page, police said.

During the investigation, it came to light that he had studied at a college here and worked at an event management firm, but had gone back to his home state. The case was registered here as he had mentioned in his profile that he resided in Bengaluru, police said.

Following the complaint, Facebook deleted his account.

Forty CRPF personnel were killed Thursday in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir when a Jaish-e-Mohammed suicide bomber rammed a vehicle carrying over 100 kg of explosives into their bus in Pulwama district.

I dont understand what is wrong with these people , the attack happened on the soil of India and to the people of India, These so called kashmiris who hails the attackers as their hero has never read and understood the Quran i believe. They cannot be a real Muslim just by their name or by commenting such a stupid comment as "May Allah accept your Shahadat and give you highest place in Jannah #Shaheed Adil Bhai,". This is really disgusting. Those responsible for this heinous attack will never be able to see the gates of jannah , forget about the highest place in jannah. They will indeed be in the highest place in jahanum and also the people who support them.
It is the time for us all Indians to support one another and to maintain the unity among one another at the time of such a grief.

The law of the land should equally treat Kashmiri studying at Bengaluru College hailing Jaish suicide bomber or Pramod Mutaliks Ram Sena with Sanathan Santha hoisting Pakistani flag on Indian soil near Sindghai, Bijapur.
If there are no equal justices then media like Zee TV and Republic TV will try their best to tag anti-national entering the college campuses like the new incident in AMU in which 12 students are booked for sedation.
I would rather say in the eyes of law 'Hindu Mahasabha' mocking the death of a father of nation Mahatma Gandhi or Kashmiri student hailing Jaish suicide bomber should be same.

Sir, The divine Hindus who fear God in the aftermath will never indulge in the killing. Those used the name of God like 'Gua Rakshaka' and Lord Rama for political benefits ar real danger to the unity of this nation.
If all the Hindus think in the same way as you, then hardly any peace. It is the majority of Hindus who isolate themselves from politics has saved the secularism of this nation. That is the beauty of this nation.
So terror has no religion whichever form they try to impose on others.

I know the risk of not acting outweighed the risk of proliferation of such ideas. Because you are dealing with ill-tutored, highly opinionated population (a huge number of them) who can be readily indoctrinated.
But, according to the law, he has his rights of freedom of speech which probably he would have enjoyed in Kashmir, but not in Bengaluru.
The hypocrisy of these people who got arrested is that, they enjoyed the peaceful life of Bangalore, access to facebook, but still enjoyed the violence at home.
I request the law enforcement agencies to make an example of such hypocrites. There are many such hypocrites also in the west. They enjoy the serene atmosphere and peaceful life there, but want jihad against the society that provided refuge to them.

Make super sense. East to west same issue and killing violence disturbances and list goes on. It is so sad some terrorist are thought at the tender age to hate others belief. It is so sad that people live in the nation but go against the same nation and support enemies just because they belong to same sect of believers. All we can do is pray for them to change and become a good citizens of this globe. Today many western nations facing difficulties to handle such idiots who came to west looking for a shelter as refugees and all of sudden become like lions. Sad to see such events happening

That's why before admitting them to colleges, they brains should be washed and taught that Kashmiri is an integral part of India and that's how they have been able to reach Bangalore or Mumbai freely without passport and visas.
