Udupi: Valentine's Day is culture of Christians - Pramod Muthalik

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi(DC)

Udupi, Feb 10: Sri Rama Sene founder Pramod Muthalik on Sunday, February 10, said that Valentine's Day is a culture of Christians.

Speaking to reporters on sidelines of Hindu Rashtra Jagruthi meeting here in Udupi, Muthalik said, “It is a culture followed by Christians. We do not need such western culture. We will approach deputy commissioners across the state and urge them not to allow Valentine's Day celebration. Instead of lover's day, we should honour our parents. We will not take law into our hands. If we see any such incident at parks and roads, we will inform police."

Lashing out at the BJP, he said that if the party had video of chief minister H D Kumaraswamy demanding money from MLAs, it should have filed a complaint and approach court. “We are witnessing dirty political situation in Karnataka. We need to reject all three national parties. If one party drops an audio bomb, another comes up with a video. If the BJP has video against Kumaraswamy, whey they are not releasing it? Also if the BJP is really innocent, why it has not yet filed a defamation suit against audio released by Kumaraswamy? If you have not committed any mistake, then approach court," he said.

He further said, "I doubt BJP is an honest party. It has forgotten its Hindutva agenda now. They are making deals in crores to get back to power. Our hard earned money in the form of tax is wasted for these deals made by political parties."

He also added that he will not contest in Lok Sabha polls. "There is no place for honesty and Hindutva in today's politics. Though PM Modi has done good work, there is no change in the BJP party," he said.

Racial prejudice, anti-Semitism, or hatred of anyone with different beliefs has no place in the human mind or heart.
Look for yourself, and you will find in the long run only hatred, loneliness, despair, rage, ruin, and decay. But look for God, and you will find Him, and with Him everything else thrown in.
What this creature will take with him when he breathes his last. ? Foul mouth ?
No faith or religion in this world teaches people to entertain communal hatred and disrespect towards fellow human.

people here belong to so many different religions/paths yet they embrace our Indian culture.

those who want to celebrate valentine day, let them, they are free to do what they like, why take names like its Christian!!!
I ca vouch for Christians are more patriotic and disciplined than you muttala. don't rake up caste/religion here, now that you are a minority/marginalized by your party. So be a good citizen, also please don't use name of our Hindu deity Rama, to your mangagala sene who are only asuras I human form creating so much hatred, how can you justify your foolish deeds with the holy name of Rama!!!

Even if it is a culture of Christians, what is wrong in Hindus celebrating it? Haven't Christians blended with our culture?
They already wear Karimani and Kalungura. They celebrate our Pudwar on September 8th. In rural areas of Shimoga and Chikmagalur, they even practice remembering ancestors on Pitrupaksha. They are also using our devotional songs and add the names of Jesus and Mother Mary. In Kerala rural areas, you can see boards like 'swamiye sharanam Jesus' and 'Om Matha Mariyaamme namaha".
When Christians are so tolerant and ready to blend with us, we should also reciprocate by celebrating Valentines' day!

Muthalick best is read ST Valentine's life story. Once you read them never ever you preach hatred. Life everything's are global. You can't change globalize style. You are lost sheep where trying hard to find a power which is not easy for you to win. Few years of life enjoy the democratic secularism of India. Life is short. Hate and jealousy has no place in india. Please refrain from such hate speech before people kick your butt out of Mangalore and Udupi. You should be banned in DK for such discriminatory speech against minorities. What a shame on you. Did you ever loved anyone in your life. Go home and have a discussion on love and compassion first then you will understand.

If you wish to honour your parents or for that matter anyone else please do so. Just wear your Cheddi, and we will NOT report you to police.

Valentine day is certainly not part of Christian culture. We do not recognise valentine day its a creation of the 21 century.

If you don't like leave it. Please do not bring religion in such events. We in America, people celebrate festivals and rituals from different religion but there was no objection from the government or any other religions. Why only here? Just think of the country and give education and work for the development of all.

This guy was banned in Goa and similar ban should be imposed on him in Mangalore and Udupi. We don't need these criminals to brainwash hindus. Impose your rules in your house Mutalik and not in the society. We don't care for you.

Why you wear pants, shirt, underwear etc? They too are western. Why are you using mobile phone? Idiot of first order. Still fools are supporting this idiot. India is secular country. Everyone has right what to celebrate and what not and no one has right to stop one's belief and culture. I have seen christians celebrating diwali, hindu's celebrating christmas, christians and hindus celebrating eid. This is our India which our forefathers dreamt. These stupid politicians tried to divide the people on religion for vote bank. Mutalik is BJP's baby and now he is against BJP. Similarly Thogadia once BJP's baby and now he has come out of it.

Pradeep....don't go so deep. If you go to history, you will get all types of lynchings. Look at the current situation. Don't act like BJP who always blames previous regimes for it's failures.
