Mangaluru: Tulu film 'Pundi Panavu' releases across district

Mangaluru, Feb 1: The movie release ceremony of Tulu movie, 'Pundi Panavu', directed by Gangadhar Kirodian and produced by Ramakrishna Shetty under Tavish Enterprises banner was held at Jyoti theatre in the town on Friday, February 1.

The programme was inaugurated by Ajit Kumar Rai Malady, president of Buntara Yaane Nadavara Sangha by lighting the lamp. In his address, Ajit Rai said, "Tulu film industry is in the top position among the regional languages now. Many cinemas are being made in the Tulu film industry. The work of spreading the fragrance of our language and culture is being done through Tulu cinemas."

A C Bhandary, president of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, who was the chief guest of the occasion, said, "Year by year, the number of Tulu movies getting released is increasing. Let movies having a social message in addition to noble thought may be made by the producers."

'Pundi Panavu' movie is being screened in Jyoti, PVR cinemas, Big Cinemas and Cinepolis in the city of Mangaluru, Ashirwad theatre in Udupi, Radhika and Planet theatres in Karkala, Amar Shree in Moodabidri, Bharat theatre in Beltangady, Inox and Big Cinemas in Manipal, Santhosh in Sullia and Natraj theatre in Suratkal.
