Mangaluru: Muhurat held for Harish Sherigar produced Tulu movie ‘English’

Mangaluru Jan 28: The Muhurat of Tulu movie 'English' was held at Sri Sharavu Mahaganapathi temple on Monday January 28. ‘English’ movie is directed by Sooraj Shetty and produced by Harish Sherigar and Sharmila Sherigar under the banner ACME Movies International.

Producers Harish Sherigar and Sharmila Sherigar clapped the clapboard at the Muhurat. 

Odiyoor Sri Guru Devananda Swamiji and priest of Sharavu temple Raghavendra Shashtri switched on the camera for the first shot.

 





Speaking on the occasion, Odiyoor Sri Guru Devananda Swamiji said," It is a good occasion to begin the Tulu movie titled 'English'. Tulu films are growing at a rapid pace, They are helping in preserving the culture and language of coastal region. Film plays a prominent role in bringing changes in the society. It is not an easy task to do a film in this competitive world.”

‘English’ movie producer Harish Sherigar said, "After producing three Kannada movies, I wanted to do a Tulu film. Talks were going on with the director Sooraj Shetty and I liked the script of ‘English.’ Anant Nag is making debut in a Tulu movie and is playing a prominent role in it,”

Director Sooraj Shetty said," The subject of ‘English’ is very tough and we wanted a right producer to produce it. Harish Sherigar and Sharmila Sherigar have come forward to produce it. Movie will be shot at Mangaluru, Udupi and Moodbidri in a 30-day schedule,”

"The budget is around Rs 55 lac. Anant Nag will be playing a character of a tutor and there will be four songs in it,” said Sooraj Shetty.

Pruthvi Ambar and Navya Poojary are playing the lead role in the film, while Naveen D Padil, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Aravind Bolar, Vismaya Vinayak, Deepak Rai are playing important roles.

Movie will be captured by Krishna Sarathy. Music will be composed by Manikanth Kadri.

Earlier Sooraj Shetty directed ‘Ekka Sakka’, ‘Pilibail Yamunakka’ and ‘Ammer Polisa’, while Harish Sherigar has produced three Kannada films namely ‘March 22’, ‘Hottegagi Genu Battegagi’ along with Anant Nag and yet to be released ‘Yaana’.

Tulu Film Producer Kishore D Shetty, Richard Castelino and others were present.

    Great combination of well know and highly respected Harish Sherigar as a producer and very talented young Sooraj Shetty for Tulu Movie ENGLISH. Good to see Great actor of Indian cinema Anant Nag is acting in tulu movie for the first time. Good Luck entire team.
