Video of Siddaganga math student regretting food wastage goes viral

Daijiworld Media Network – Tumkuru (EP)

Tumkuru, Jan 23: A video of an eight standard student of Siddaganga math regretting over devotees wasting food has gone viral.

The student identified as Shivu, was one of the volunteers who helped math staff to serve meals to over one lac devotees who attended the last rites of Shivakumar Swamiji on Tuesday.

Shivu in the video speaking to a reporter tells that people don’t know the value of rice as they have become rich. “Food was wasted in the math since 8 am on Tuesday. When math staff came to know that people were throwing food, they asked volunteers to serve limited portions to ensure it does not happen. Even I stopped a devotee who was about to throw rice as he did not have patience to wait for sambar,” he said.

“While some devotees threw rice as they could not wait for sambar, some said they are too full and cannot eat. However, I made sure that sambar is served and stopped them from wasting food,” Shivu says.

“People in the cities have become rich. Therefore, they do not know the value of rice. People now long for water. They may long for rice later. My elder brother used to go to school eating only Ganji. Our sir had taught us not to waste rice when we went to Shravanabelagola,” he adds.

Good Work Shivu, Kindly keep campaigning the noble deeds, You know true value of food, as you have seen your elder brother.
But many rich ppl order food from Luxury restaurant they pay more than actual value of food because restaurant is Luxury and Waste food,
just to show off many people go to restaurant and spend lot of money, on same amount they can easily eat for 2-3 days food in home.

    The logic is simple.

A poor man cannot buy food. Hence, what the farmer has cultivated cannot not be purchased by him. So the farmer is left behind with his produce.

Now, those who waste have purchased it, the farmer has his produce sold. If not the farmer may not get his money back.

So this wasting food logic is simply not healthy economics. I also know that millions will disagree with me. And I agree to wasting food id not nice, when we have a million hungry mouths to feed.

There are efforts to save food in Europe too. Especially in Germany people hardly waste food at restaurants. Waiters and chefs feel annoyed if you leave food in your plates at restaurants.
In India, we take pride in serving huge portions in functions. We too should learn to serve small potions. This is the only way to stop people from wasting food.
    Well one Shivu.

They should have confined the rice throwers to a room for one day to know what hunger is. They have committed a crime against humanity where millions go without food.

Most of all temples you will find offering prasadam-ootaam at both times including even breakfast in morning hours. That's why hinduism is not a religion..but way of life showing how to live in the society. Other's only good to collect money and try to expand there religion all over. Can they be successful. All countries procuring so much weapons and stored...it will be used one or other day to balance the population which increased in rapid force. All other's should learn from indian culture which will benefit the most and helpful in long run to save this world from calamity. Most of countries are wasting food enamorously as compare to india. We treat food in india...as god. We know how to sit and respect the food...intake the same. Just watch others how they consume the same. After all india is first country where in god poured each and every thing.

If Basavana Tatva is applied Karnataka will be more peaceful and castism will be eliminated in one go.
This is the reason BJP has denied 'Lingayat' separate religion.
Master Shivu has upheld the teaching of 'Basavana' in nation 22% of its population is below its official poverty limit and estimated 23.6% of Indian population, or about 276 million people, lived below $1.25 per day on purchasing power parity.
India, with its population of 1.3 billion people, now has 5 percent of its population living in extreme poverty, according to the World Poverty Clock (in Nigeria, where the overall population is about 191 million, the rate of extreme poverty is much higher: 44 percent are extremely poor).
For many in India, such talk is sure to provoke sharp debate. Tens of millions of people remain destitute and thousands of farmers commit suicide each year. Nearly 40 percent of Indian children under 5 are short for their age, a sign of chronic undernutrition.
For “lower middle income” countries like India, it set the line at people who live on $3.20 day. By that measure, a third of Indians are poor.
So wasting food anger God as well as starves our own people in need.
    Jai Hind

Hats off to you Shivu. You have done the right thing. Those people who live on others earnings or ill-gotten wealth don't know the value of food. Those who are hungry only know the value of food.
God bless you Shivu... You are a role model for many.

People who waste food doesn't know how difficult it is to grow in the fields, how much effort the farmer put till it comes to their plates. This is the reason why farmers die everyday, nobody knows the plight of the farmers.
Who knows all of those who threw rice may be the customers of Pizza, McDonald's, Dominos, KFC etc....
