Mangaluru: Amche Daaiz and GUMTA course inaugurated at Milagres college

Mangaluru, Jan 22: A certificate course in Konkani Folklore and GUMTA workshop was inaugurated at Milagres college in association with Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy on January 21.

Santhosh Shenoy, a member of the Karnataka Sahithya Academy inaugurated the workshop with the gumta beats.

Naveen Kulshekar, Konkani writer and the resource person of the workshop Joel Pereira, Prof Lourdusamy, the academic advicer, Prem Moras the coordinator of the course and Ashwin Fernandes and Dyafni Fonceca office bearers of Milagres Konkani Sang were present on the stage.

Fr Michael Santhumayor, principal of the college presided over the function.

This will be a 30-hours intensive practical oriented workshop for the Konkani speaking students. The president informed that this certificate workshop is jointly sponsored by Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy and Milagres College. The Amche Daiz performance and finale will be held on February 9 at 10.30am.
