Mysuru, Jan 18: A girl who was in love with a boy belonging to a religion other than her own was found dead mysteriously at Nanjangud here. Villagers have suspected it to be a case of honour killing.

The girl residing in a village in Nanjangud was in love with Shankera, a resident of Siddayyanahundi here. It is said that she had asked her mother to get her married to the boy.

The mother of the girl who was unhappy because of her daughter’s decision had reportedly gone accompanied with her relatives to the house of the boy and asked the boy to get married to somebody else as they belong to different religions.

But the boy had expressed his determination to marry her daughter.

Local people saw the girl who came to the village in bike on Thursday, vomiting on the road between Lakshmanapur and Koogaloor and informed her mother. She was taken to Nanjangud government hospital by ambulance. But the doctors who examined her said that she was dead.

A case is registered in Nanjangud rural police station. Police are investigating if it is a suicide or honour killing.

Sad.Poor young woman never succeeded in her love.Noone knows the reason why and how she died.If a postmartum was done could have truth behind it would have comeout.Whether family was involved in it or she herself took the step of parting away from this world after family rejected her wish?never know .May her soul find peace above.Girls too sometimes take care of indulging in a love affair with a boy of other religion ,without parents blessings and knowing they will not allow her to marra him.But once you are ,please dont take the step of suecide because of failed love.Life is too precious to suecide.Parents too sometimes try to give blessins to their children thinking their wellbeing ,whatever their religion and cast. But Gods sake dont go so far of honour killing.
