Udupi, Jan 18: District JD(S) members staged protest at martyrs’ memorial ground Ajjarkad here on Friday, January 18 and condemned BJP’s ‘resort politics’.

Addressing the gathering, JD(S) district president Yogish Shetty said, “BJP showed low level politics with ‘Operation Lotus’ by luring Congress MLAs. BJP is disturbing the coalition government frequently, but is not successful. The JD(S) is not afraid of BJP. The government is functioning smoothly. BJP’s anti-governmental activities will not affect our government. JD(S) will never bend down to any kind of blackmail of opposition.

“BJP leaders should know that no conspiracy will work here. For sure, the government will complete five years without any hurdles. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will work for needy, deprived and poor classes of the society. There is no doubt in it. BJP leaders are working for political gains. Let BJP do its work. If the government has made mistakes, let BJP point out those mistakes. The state government will welcome such advice and is ready to make correction. If BJP continues to show the same attitude, we will show our power by uniting with other parties.

“All know the results of elections in five states held recently. If they continue anti-constitutional activities, people will teach a lesson to BJP. We will organise a huge protest in the coming days against the central government,” he said.

Vasudeva Rao, district JD(S) executive president, Pradeep Yermal, spokesperson, Shalini Shetty Kenchanur and others were present.
