2 Kerala women, who entered Sabarimala, to get 24x7 security: SC

New Delhi, Jan 18 (DC): The Supreme Court on Friday asked the Kerala government to provide round-the-clock security to two Kerala women who entered Sabarimala earlier this month.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and justices L N Rao and Dinesh Maheshwari said it was only going into the aspect of security to the two women and would not like to entertain any other prayer.

The bench also refused to tag the matter along with the pending petitions in the Sabarimala case.

Bindu Ammini (40) and Kanakadurga (39), fearing for their lives, had petitioned the top court seeking security.

In September 2018, the Supreme Court ordered the shrine’s doors to be open to women of all ages, overturning a decades-old ban on the entry of female devotees of menstruating age.

I am surprised, repeatedly some members bring out the Bishop and nuns matter to deal with any present message. As i mentioned earlier, the case is in the court and justice will be done.

My question is, why the nun kept quiet for so many years and came out with the accusations only when she was transferred? She should have raised the matter right in the beginning. Now that they are still a part of the congregation they had joined, they are required to continue their vows. Remember they are still accepted and asked to join. Please note, there is only one judge and that is the Lord our God. The case is also in the court and final judgment will be declared.

So with due respect, do not combine the issues. God bless.

It is now the Supreme Court VS the BJP and the RSS with the blessings of the central Govt and Modi who are openly inciting their cadres to go against the Supreme Court order.

If Modi feels so strongly about triple talak and issues an ordinance then similarly he shoud have issued an ordinance for Sbarimala and Ram Temple to solve these issues instead of fomenting trouble and distrubing the peace across the country.

This is not only open confrontration with the Supreme Court by Modi and the BJP but signs of grave irresponsibility on the part of the PM who swore by oath to uphold the Law of the land

Many women, who otherwise seek equality and empowerment elsewhere, missed out something vital in this issue.

The whole issue was, don't treat women as second class because they menstruate. Women have no control on this nature process and they should not be discriminated.

Some people gave it a religious colour and that was enough, the real issue was forgotten only religious passion was displayed.

What a ploy. One stone two birds. Polarisation and discrimination, and women of (no) substance got hoodwinked yet again.

as per your views these nuns should not fight for justice, they don't have the freedom to fight for justice. so they have been transferred for their mistake. this is the story right?

come to the point now. our constitution has given the right to every citizen of this country to express their views. again the right has been given them to fight against injustice. our constitution also treat men & women equally. our SC also endorse the samething. then why these nuns are transferred & why there is no punishment for bishop?
