Kundapur: Mortal remains of man who jumped into rivulet recovered

Kundapur, Jan 18: The body of Praveen Kumar (47) residing near Sangam area in the town, who had plunged into the rivulet from Sangam bridge on Wednesday January 16 afternoon, was recovered from the rivuet near Uppinakudru here on Thursday January 17.

It has transpired that before ending his life, Praveen had written a letter to the police station here, wherein he had claimed that he was facing harassment from his family members and that therefore he had decided to commit suicide.

Praveen had parked his two-wheeler near the said bridge before jumping into the rivulet on Wednesday. A rescue operation was thereafter launched by the fire brigade, police department, and expert divers but his mortal remains could not be found. At about 11 am on Thursday, his lifeless body was recovered from near Uppinakudru.

Police sub-inspectors of the police station here, Harish R Nak and Sudhakar, as well as other staff visited the spot.
