Mumbai: Billavara Association ladies wing celebrates Makar Sankranti

Mumbai, Jan 15: The ladies wing of Billavara Association here, celebrated Makar Sankranti, recitation of poetry and Arasina Kumkuma at Billava Bhavan, Santacruz east on Monday evening January 14.

Billavara Association Mumbai president Chandrashekar S Poojary chaired the programme. Chief guest, social worker Jayalaxmi Chandrashekar Poojary and ladies wing vice president Prabha K Bangera and Girija Chandrashekar were on the dais.

Sharada Anand Anchan, Leela Ganesh Karkal, Prema Poojary, Kusuma C Ameen, Vani P Shetty, Sharada Ambesangi, Dr Rajani Vinayaka Pai, Lalitha Prabhu Angadi and others presented their poems.



Executive president Jayanti V Ullal offered puja to Narayanaguru and set the programme in motion. Jayanti V Ullal welcomed the gathering. Honorary chief secretary Sumitra S Bangera introduced the guests and compered the programme. Office bearers honored the guests. Joint secretary Jayanti S Kotian proposed the vote of thanks. Office bearers presented Arasina Kumkuma, traditional Ellunde and Bagina to women and celebrated Makar Sankramana.
