Mangaluru: Expert Pre University College Valachil celebrates 'Expert Day'

Mangaluru, Jan 1: The annual gala event ‘Expertday’ commemorating the foundation day of Expert Pre University College was celebrated at Valachil campus amidst jubilation and great zeal.

P Jayaram Bhat, chairman Karnataka Bank Ltd was chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he expressed his immense happiness for being part of the annual day celebrations of the college and lauded the vision, relentless hard work and indomitable strength of Prof Narendra L Nayak in carving out a great institution like Expert. He added that students need not look for a past and distant leader for inspiration as Prof Nayak himself is a great inspiration. During his inspirational discourse he urged the students to adopt certain principles in life like not to waste even a second during learning and not to waste even a single particle while earning. He also reminded the students to remember the teachers always with gratitude and to become well educated and equip themselves with skills as the sustained economic growth of our nation depends on them.

Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman Expert Group of Institutions in his presidential address attributed the success of Expert to the good team work of the teachers and hard work of the dedicated students. He expressed his pleasure in having P Jayaram Bhat as the chief guest as he is an inspiring figure to the student community. Greeting the staff and the students on the occasion he opined that anything done with sincerity and hard work will never be wasted and asked the students to achieve further milestones in their journey of excellence in Expert.



Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice chairperson, Expert group of Institutions in her keynote address stated that the occasion of Expert day is not only about celebrating our scholastic success but also to remember and thank each and every individual connected with Expert that contributed to our growth.

The advisor to the management S S Nayak addressing the august gathering recalled the early days of Expert and expressed his profound happiness over the growth and success of the institution. He said that students should pursue their goal untiringly as life has no pause button and dreams have no expiry date.

Ankush N Nayak, director Information Technology, Expert Group of Institutions in his down memory lane, recollected the years of perseverance as an alumnus of the college. He advised the students not to be deterred by fear of unknown, but to be focussed, to make use of opportunities, to be consistent and to maintain efficiency in pursuing their goals.

Trustee Ustad Rafique Khan; Prof Ramachandra Bhat, principal, Expert PUCollege Kodialbail campus; Sachin Mehta; Anmol Murali, President of Expert Alumni Association; Prasad Prabhu, president student parliament and Bhoomika R Prasad, secretary of student parliament were present on the dais.

The formal programme began with the college anthem and lighting of the ceremonial lamp.

Dr N K VijayanKarippal extended a cordial welcome to the dignitaries and the audience.

RaghavendraShenoy, vice principal presented the annual report of the college for the year 2017-18.

The rankholders of 2017-18 and the proficiency prize winners for 2017-18 were felicitated.

The programme director Subrahmanya Udupa, HOD Mathematics proposed the vote of thanks.

Anjan Bopanna and Manya Upadhyaya compered the formal function.

The formal function was followed by a cultural extravaganza comprising of scintillating dances, mellifluous songs, drama etc.

At the end a sumptuous delectable dinner was served by ‘Spices and Chefs‘.
