Mangaluru: St Agnes College spirituality committee holds greeting card, crib making competition

Mangaluru, Dec 26: The Spirituality Committee of St Agnes College (autonomous) organised a greeting card competition and crib making competition for the students from all the streams on the eve of Christmas.

Eight teams consisting of eight students each participated in crib making competition.

Marina Pinto, associate professor, department of Physics and Sheryl Preethika, associate professor, department of Commerce were the judges.

78 teams consisting of two students each participated in the greeting card competition.



Sr Agatha Mary and Sr Evet, associate professor, department of Physics judged the greeting cards.

    Crib making competition has been an old tradition of Mangalore. Out of all the cribs in the past, the crib created by the Leprosy Asylum at Fr. Muller's Hospital was always on the top of the list during our school days. The Leprosy Asylum in those days of the past also had the best choir to display. We still remember so many years our father used to drag all of us with him to the Leprosy Asylum Chapel for our Xmas midnight mass.

    Leprosy Asylum was one of the prime objective of late Fr. Muller to enter into the Homeopathic business and also the hospital business. Today, Fr. Mullers Charitable Institution is a renowned Institution with even a Medical College in display.

    We always cherished a close attachment to Fr. Mullers Institution where so many of our family members earned their daily bread and brought all of us to the stage where we are today
