Mangaluru, Dec 18: Former central minister Pallam Raju demanded to set up a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to know the complete facts about the Rafale deal scam.

Addressing media here on Tuesday, December 18, Pallam Raju said, "The fraud of Rafale scam was perpetuated with sheer lies. Affidavit was submitted by law ministry to the court which contained lots of false information. During UPA government, in 2012, we signed a deal to have 126 aircraft and negotiated with HAL to manufacture 108 aircraft,”

Raju further said, "In the year 2015, Modi announced purchase of 36 aircrafts at thrice the price which would cost Rs 60,145 crore. While the UPA government came up with a deal of Rs 526.10 crore per aircraft, the cost of the same went up to Rs 1670.70 crore which means a loss of Rs 41,205 crores on 36 aircraft. Even the contract was transferred to inexperienced Reliance Company, replacing the most experienced HAL. Reliance declined to disclose the price. If the deal between two countries is transparent one, then what is the need to hide the price of the aircraft?"

"We have raised several issues with regards to the Rafale scam, which have remained unanswered till today. In 2018, defence ministry came up with a statement that no partners have been chosen, while in 2016 Reliance came up with a statement that it had Rs 30,000 crore deal. Why these lies?” questioned Pallam Raju.

Raju further said, "Congress has always pointed out that Supreme Court is not the appropriate forum to decide on the issue of corruption, pricing, specification and crony capitalism in the Rafale case. Supreme Court cannot summon and examine all the file notings, witnesses on oath, including questioning the Prime Minister and also defence ministry officials or accept other evidence. This can only be done by a joint parliamentary committee. So Congress party never went to Supreme
Court and constantly insisted on JPC probe. We demand to form a joint parliamentary committee to come out with the real facts of the Rafale scam."

Former MLA J R Lobo, Congress leaders Kallige Tharanath Shetty and others were present.

If Modi and BJP are so sure about Rafael deal, why don’t they agree on JPC investigation? The nation wants to know everything.
The nationalist BJP which sells merchandise for the political fund on 'NAMO' and chants 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' why is running away for single debate or press conference in neutral avenue represented by the national and Internation unbiased journalist?

Is there a precedent for JPC? Was it ever done when Congress was the ruling party? If Congress cannot move the SC to force the government to institute such an inquiry, then all the crowing will do nothing. It is just a publicity stunt to topple the ruling party and top the BJP from gaining ground in the next election. As the D-day draws near, people will speak loudly and clearly.

The fact that whether there was a precedent or not is immaterial now. The need of the hour is we want clarity and transparency on the Rafale deal irrespective of party affiliations. At the end of the day we want to make sure nothing went wrong in the deal and the nation did not suffer a financial loss.

The Govt will do all that is possible to scuttle a JPC Probe. The CAG has been silenced. The Supreme Court has rightly declined to interfere in the job esentially of the legislature.

The only hope now is for the Supreme Court to reinstate the CBI Chief Verma who had initiaited the probe in the Rafale Scam and was in the process of may be filing the FIR until the Modi mole in the CBI Ashana blew the whistle and arranged the mid night Coup to scuttle the probe into the Rafale Scam. If the CBI Chief Verma is not reinatated, then all his investigations in the rafele scam will vanish.

I am sure other legal remedies are available and the longer the Govt remains in denail, the more damage to its credibility as the people want to unravel the truth of this nexus between Modi and Ambani. The Suit Boot Ki Sarkar.

CBI can't start any probe unless told by govt or court.
Neither the two have given any such instructions.
Why are you spreading false news?

Like Sardar Patel statue, these fighters may also can get manufactured in China. Nobody can stop it, if it happens.

Hope that the middle class that strongly backed Modi led BJP earlier in 2014, realises that the nations security is compromised, the only logical reason for such illegitimate act is money to win elections and pay news channels for looking the otherway.

DK which has one of the highest logical and rational minds within India, still have some educated people defending Modi led BJP, in this one too. That is a total surprise. Hope that a relentless pressure can only now expose the govt.

Actually Pallam Raju is a spent force, politically irrelevant. Hence he's making these noises, that too in Namma Kudla!
The person with him in the PC is also a defeated Congressman, spent force yet again.

Those who had listened to Raghuram Rajan's debate in NDTV with Prannory Roy would understand the ill effect of demonetization & GST on Indian economy. What a visionary explanation and clarification from the ex-governor of RBI.
BJP bhakts voted and chose Mr. Modi to lead the country and he proved his capabilities. He is fit to make election speeches and campaigning in every assmbly & LS elections. Result we all know.

After JPC, Scotland Yard Police should probe the case, if it fails to prove BJP's role, then FBI Agency should be handed over the investigation, even it won't accumulate anything to prove, then Interpol could also be invited to take charge of further investigation ......
