Mangaluru: CCB police raid illegal cylinder refilling centers, arrest two

Mangaluru, Dec 16: Two people were arrested by the CCB police during a raid on illegal gas refilling centres in the city here on Sunday, December 16.

The arrested are Prashanth (42) from Bolara and Sadashiva Rai (47) from Kaikamba. Two others Harish and Kusappa who were also involved are on the run.

The raid was carried out jointly by the CCB police and food officials on December 15. Following credible information about refilling in Bolar and Jeppu market area, the raid was carried out.

During the raid 17 gas cylinders and 136 empty cylinders, refilling pump, a pickup vehicle, goods tempo worth Rs 6, 44,400 were seized.

The raid was carried out under the guidance of city police commissioner T R Suresh, assistant police commissioner Hanumantharaya, DCP Uma Prashanth, CCB inspector Shantharam and team.
