Mangaluru: Hit by train, man dies on railway tracks

Mangaluru, Dec 15: A person died after having been hit by a train between Padil and Jokatte stations on Friday December 14 afternoon.

The victim of the accident was Kishore (46), residing near Bobbarya Daivasthana at Jokatte here. He was a painter by profession.

Kishore was trying to cross the railway tracks when Matsyagandha Express train moving toward Mumbai reportedly hit him. As he suffered serious injuries, he died on the spot.

On the basis of a prescription issued by a doctor that was found in the shirt pocket of the deceased, his identity was established, railway police said.

The deceased is survived by wife and two sons.
