Who should be CM ? - Rahul Gandhi goes Hi-Tech with party workers

NEW DELHI, Dec 12 (Agencies) : Congress president Rahul Gandhi has gone to the grassroots to select CMs for Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. The process is democratic, and works like a secret ballot.Over the last 24 hours, an audio message from Rahul has gone to 7.3 lakh party workers across the three states, in which they have been asked to respond, indicating their choice, and promised complete confidentiality.

According to national TV channel NDTV, In the audio message, Rahul is heard congratulating the leaders for the party's victory in the assembly elections in the three heartland states. "Now I want to ask you a vital question: Who should be the chief minister? Please mention just one name. I'm the only person who would know whom you are naming. No one in the party will know. Please speak after the beep".

Sources in Congress said the data will help decide whom the respondents from each state want and already, very clear preferences are emerging from each state.

"This is what we were waiting for. It is the new Congress -- Listen to your worker's first," said a source, echoing what the Congress chief said yesterday about the importance of listening to the "heartbeat of the country".

In Rajasthan, two-thirds of the newly-elected Congress lawmakers want Sachin Pilot to be the Chief Minister. Others are batting for two-time Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

The leaders in Madhya Pradesh are divided between party veteran Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia, Rahul's close aide.

In Chhattisgarh, too, several names are doing he rounds, including Bhupesh Baghel and TS Singh Deo, leader of the opposition in the previous assembly and Tamradhwaj Sahu, the state's only Congress parliamentarian.

Kamal Nath stakes claim to form government in MP

Bhopal, Dec 12 (IANS): Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath met Governor Anandiben Patel on Wednesday and staked his party's claim to form the next government in the state.

"We have staked claim," he told reporters after the meeting at Raj Bhavan. Asked who would be the Chief Minister, Kamal Nath shot back: "I don't know."

Late on Tuesday, Kamal Nath wrote to the Governor urging her to give him an appointment so that he could stake claim as the Congress had emerged as the single largest party in the Assembly with "majority support".

The Congress won 114 seats, two short of a majority in the 230-member house.

After the meeting with the Governor, Lok Sabha member and Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia said "of course it would be a privilege" when he was asked whether he would like to be the Chief Minister.

He said the Congress, which has won 114 seats, has the legislative majority with the backing of all four Independents and three MLAs of BSP and SP.

Scindia, one of the contenders for chief ministership, also attacked outgoing Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

"You were claiming that BJP is going to win 200 seats this time. Even if we count all the BJP seats in all five states, the party has not crossed the 200 mark," he said.

Earlier on Wednesday, Kamal Nath said the top priority of new Congress government will be to work for "farmers and unemployed youth".

He said this after meeting the outgoing Chief Minister.

He added: "We have to create a new environment of trust in Madhya Pradesh."

Asked about the farm loan waiver promised by the party within 10 days of taking power, he said: "Let the government be formed first."

Before meeting the Governor, Kamal Nath described Chouhan as "my friend" and said "he fought a good election".

Meanwhile, Chouhan tendered his resignation to the Governor taking moral responsibility for the party's electoral loss in the state.

"Ab mai mukt hoon. (Now I am free)... The responsibility of defeat is totally mine," Chouhan said.

"No one has got the mandate. Since we have also not got the mandate, we did not stake claim to form the government," Chouhan added.

Congress to form MP government as Shivraj Singh Chouhan resigns

Bhopal, Dec 12 (IANS): The path for the formation of a Congress government in Madhya Pradesh was cleared with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan resigning from the post on Wednesday declaring that the BJP was not going to stake claim.

"As we have not got clear majority, we are not going to stake claim to form the government. And I am going to the Governor to resign as the Chief Minister," Chouhan said here.

Meanwhile, reports have emerged that Governor Anandiben Patel has invited Congress leader Kamal Nath, who on Tuesday night wrote to her that his party has emerged as the single largest party in the state and has majority support in the 230-member Assembly, staking claim.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati, whose party won two seats in the state, announced to extend support to the Congress on Wednesday.

The Samajwadi Party (SP) which won one seat in the state also extended its support to the Congress. The announcement was made by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.

"The Samajwadi Party extends its support to the Congress to form a government in Madhya Pradesh," Yadav tweeted in Hindi on Wednesday.

According to the Election Commission, the final tally for the 230-seat Madhya Pradesh Assembly showed Congress with 114 seats, while the ruling BJP came close with 109 in a battle that went to the wire on Tuesday.

Final results : MP counting over: Congress emerges single largest party

Bhopal, Dec 12 : Exactly after 24 hours after counting started, Election Commission of India in Bhopal, on Wednesday at 8.20 am declared the final tally of Assembly election results held in Madhya Pradesh (MP).

Congress has won 114 seats in MP's 230 seat Assembly, just short of two seats for the majority. BJP ended-up with 109 seats. BSP 2, SP 1 and independents 4.

Kamal Nath, senior leader and the person who led the party to victory in MP has already claimed stake to form the government last night even before EC officially declared the results.

EC took longer than expected time to declare the results. Congress had to wait until this morning to officially claim single largest party status. Governor Anandibein has still not given appointment to Congress leaders in response to the request letter of meeting.

Congress has also claimed the support of two BSP, one SP and all four independent MLAs in the Assembly. With the support from 7 MLAs, Congress could comfortably form government.

Bhopal, Dec 11 : After a nail-biting contest between Congress and BJP in Madhya Pradesh assembly election, Kamal Nath, leader of Congress party wrote a letter to the governor seeking the opportunity to form the government. As at 10.30 pm on Tuesday, Congress was just two short of majority. In the 230-member state assembly, Congress is leading in 114 seats and BJP in 108. Other parties like SP, BSP and independents are leading in 7 seats.

More details to follow.

Congress candidates on Tuesday took significant leads in BJP-ruled Rajasthan and also Congress was inching ahead of the BJP in both Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in Assembly elections held in five states.

Trends from counting centres also showed that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) appeared set to retain power in Telangana while the ruling Congress was lagging behind the Mizo National Front (MNF) in Mizoram in state elections that were widely dubbed a 'semi-final' ahead of the Lok Sabha battle next year.

In line with exit polls, the Congress appeared to be returning to power after a five-year gap in Rajasthan, the country's largest state which has not re-elected a ruling party in recent times.

A wave means the opposition is totally routed in the elections.
In Chattisgarh, it was a congress wave. opposition got routed.
In Telengana, it was a TRS wave, Congress got routed.
In MP, no wave, because both the parties have same seats, same vote share. Difference of only 6 seats.
In Rajasthan, again No wave,Vote share difference is not much, Congress should have got much more.

What an astonishing news to the citizens of India is:

FIRST TIME IN INDIA SINCE INDEPENDENCE WE HAD A COW MINISTER.

VIJAYRAJE SHINDYA SHOULD NOT HAVE STOOPED DOWN TO THAT MUCH LOWEST LEVEL.

READ THE FOLLOWING COPIED FROM ONE NEWS WEBSITE:

In 2015, the country's first ministry exclusively for cow protection was set up in Rajasthan and policeman turned politician Otaram Dewasi was made its minister.

Mr Dewasi imposed a new 20 percent surcharge on new property purchases -- dubbed a "cow tax" -- to generate cash to run the 2,300 shelters in Rajasthan for abandoned cows.

He also branded roughly 85 percent of the 650,000 cows under his care to stop them being smuggled.

But his reputation was marred in 2016 when 500 cows starved to death at a state-run shelter when the facility was flooded during heavy rains.

In August, 28 more died, further denting his image in a state where cow slaughter comes with a 10 years jail.

    SHAME, SHAME SHAME TO

Back in year 2014 when BJP came into power i was hoping for real right wing actvism and instillation of orthodoxy values. But it was mixed outcome , though modi improved image of india globally he made some terrible mistakes which cost him dearly

    1. Taking his own voters base for granted . The building of temple should have been completed in these 4 years , he had absolute majority and whats needed was a just a ordinance . He just dragged it for another 4 years so as to include in election manifesto

    2. Again going against his own voter base by not amending sc / st act . We can understand he did it to please sc/ st section ,but in this process he hurt upper class and middle class vote bank , also did nothing to stop caste and gender reservations . These reservations are hurting the nation very badly and merit is suppressed over the cast / gender hajemony .

3.Taking men for granted , modi gave surplus amount to women empowerment but forgot the hardship of men and specially the farmers . He should have created better logistics so that farmers can sell their products directly into local market

    4. Interfering with other religious laws : Interfering with islamic sharia laws ( like triple talaq ) and trying to amend , also criminalse it . It invoked wrath of even muslim women .

    5. Not upholding the CONSERVATIVE values , what right wing supposed to do : Conservative BJP went full liberal and leftist/ communist / feminist judges took over supreme court so we had anti family and anti religious verdicts from supreme court . BJP has not even able to persuade their own comrade CJI deepak mishra into giving pro conservative verdicts . See how they messed up with sabarimala veridct hurting religious sentiments , and also made ADULTERY legal sending wrong signals to civilized society . Like in US and other nations , we need true right wing conservative party to fight athiests / leftists and feminists . Hope common sense prevails and BJP waked up before its too late . I think still they can fix this up

If one study the pattern of voting and victory margin of BJP in state elections of Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajastan it is clever thought of execution EVM manipulation. Following are the cases which confirms the fraud in electoral system. In all elections EVM stopped working became mandatory practice. The results are deliberately held for long time for the states which voted first. In all the results BJP is close to the required margin in order to ensure its dirty tricks of ‘operation Kamala’.
    In Chhattisgarh,
    1. At least 3 such cases were reported. First, in Bemetara, a BSF guard was found using laptops in the strong room.
    2. Two people, who claimed to be Reliance Jio employees were apprehended suspiciously close to the strong room in Jagdalpur in the Bastar region. Since they had laptops, the Congress workers alleged that they were trying to hack the EVMs.
    3. Similarly, in Dhamtari an unauthorised person was allowed into the strong room by a district official.
    In Madhya Pradesh, too, at least 4 such cases were reported;
    1. In Bhopal, an hour-long power outage in the strong room led to a CCTV camera blackout. It was only after the opposition parties complained that the ECI admitted its failure and installed generators for the strong room.
    2. Similarly, in Khurai, the Congress pointed out that 34 EVMs reached the strong room only after 48 hours after voting in an unauthorised van.
    3. In Satna, too, an SUV rammed into the boundary wall of strong room, sparking immediate protests from the opposition parties.
    4. Again, in a bizarre incident, a video that went viral on Friday showed that an EVM was found inside the house of a Rajasthan MLA, Gyanchand Parakh.
There is very planned execution of ‘Salami Fraud’ in selective level. (A fraud where a very small amount of money is removed from each transaction and put into a suspense account the transaction are so small that no one notices them, but over a period of time they build up to large sums of money).

In the 2013 assembly election, the BJP polled 44.88% while the Congress polled 36.38%. This translated into a landslide for the BJP, which won 165 to the Congress’s 58 seats.
The combined vote percentage of 45.63% would have given a Congress-BSP alliance 140 seats in Madhya Pradesh and reduced the BJP to just 85 seats.
If Congress, BSP Had Allied in Madhya Pradesh, the Map Would Look Radically Different.
This result is something both party need to take it serious in MP especially its presence in both house of parliament has been reduced to negligible.

Congress party would have done better if central govt did not misuse powers Voters’ lists and EVMs stealing etc.
    Here is a list of a few glaring instances that preceded the CEC’s admission;
    T. Krishna Prasad, IPS in the rank of a DGP and chairman of Road Safety Authority, Hyderabad found his name missing from the voters’ list although he had verified it online.
Badminton player Jwala Gutta found her name missing in Hyderabad although she has been living at the same address for the past 12 years.
Telangana electoral officers admitted to have received a large number of such complaints and publicly said they were ‘sorry’ !
An EVM machine was found on the side of a Highway in Rajasthan after polling. Electoral officers claimed that it could have ‘fallen off’ the vehicle.
It was reported on social media that three people claiming to be Reliance Jio employees and carrying laptops were allowed to enter the Strong Room storing EVMs.
An EVM machine was recovered from a private residence in Pali, disconcertingly close to the house of the sitting MLA.
Postal ballot papers were recovered from the canteen at the Home Guards’ office in Jehangirabad locality of Bhopal.
In Madhya Pradesh a group of polling officials were found with EVMs in a hotel owned by a ruling party MLA.

Beginning of ‘BJP-mukt Bharat’: Modi’s abuses and Yogi’s threats fail to work in state elections.
Though Modi promised a Congress-mukt Bharat, but the election results in the 5 states are showing an increasing trend towards a BJP-Mukt bharat, owing it to all to Modi’s failed leadership.

Thank you India, you have chosen love over hate, peace over violence & truth over lies.

Dear Jessy, BJP people abandaoned all these EVM after replacing them in the control room. These abandoned EMS were used during voting and later on replaced by already programmed EVMs by bjp in their homes + hotels + offices etc etc. and its strange that EC has closed its eyes on the issue. Anyhow nothing can be hidden from God and God has taught good lesson to the cheaters + day robbers. Well done voters. Keep it up.
