Davangere: Lawyer attacks two traffic policemen for being stopped for breathalyser test

Daijiworld Media Network

Davangere, Oct 10: A lawyer from Davangere, who was allegedly driving in an inebriated condition, assaulted two cops after he was stopped for a breathalyzer test.

The assault recorded by a pedestrian on his cellphone, shows the advocate identified as Rudrappa, furious on being stopped, starts throwing terracotta objects being sold by a street vendor on the side of the road on the traffic policeman.

While, one policeman suffers a deep cut on the forehead, Rudrappa in a fit of rage attacks the other policeman pushing him to the ground.

The Davangere superintendent of police Chetan Singh Rathore said the lawyer has been arrested and a case has been registered for assaulting officers on duty. The charges on drunk driving will be pressed, only after a medical report confirms the same, he said.

Dear Shettty, I agree with you as we should not blame any one or any oganisation without proof. However, I don't agree with you for giving green signal to RSS. Everyone of us know that RSS did not take part in the struggle of Independence and none of the RSS leader or member sacrificed his life for the nation. On the otherhand, they joined their hands with British to get appreciation. RSS is not having respect in Indian constitution. they need their own constitution.

People will not respect this Lawyer without Moral and criminal mind.... Basically these so called LAWYERS ... or ADVOCATES are good enought to fight for his clients on cases he takes.... ( of course for huge fees depending on the finalcial position of clients... ) Here a drunken Lawyer attacking a trafic Police is really shows the mindset of this UNEDUCATED LAWYER..... Police and Govt should take proper action on him and cancel his LICENCE of ADVOCATING becasuse he is not fit for that profession...

Account is not clear. Only what he did with the spirit on his head is given. No account of how much he got in return from two police men after that.

Traffic Police can file case against the Lawyer.

Duty is a Duty and citizens should adhere and allow officials to do their duty.

Citizens can restrict/resist exclusively if the officials are wrongly performing their duty.

THE LAWYER KNOWS HE IS NOT DRUNK, WHY THEN HE IS REVOLTING. ALLOW THE BREATHALYSER TEST.

I OPINE THAT THE LAWYER MIGHT HAVE BEEN DRUNK.

THE CONSEQUENCE FROM THE LAWYER IS ANGER OVER THE OFFICIAL.

    LAWYER SHOULD BE REPRIMANDED.

Let traffic police do there duty. Are standing more than ten hours on road..with horrible climate and polluted air and smoke of vehicles. Whatever they are doing for the purpose of there family. At least they control vehicles for easy inflow so as not affect to others. It's our utmost duty to co-operate with them at the utmost...eventhough aware are after hafta. It's a big chain.. followed from years..where in from superiors to all officers involved. Person who collected more money in hafta meant to be efficent officer. It will take much time to break such chains as already corrupt entered in there blood. Without which they wont survive. Should improve there pay-scale and facilities to improve there living standard. More power given to police officers to tackle such people and also warned to police not to mis use same for own gain. Only than society will improve for good..one by one.

This is indeed a very serious offence. Attacking a police officer or for that matter attacking even a constable is a serious offence.

It is good that the person has been apprehended and booked.

It is surprising that a lawyer who should be conversant with law took the law in his own hands. Hope The Court will strictly view the matter and suitable penalty will be imposed on the person

It's now become habit to drive having drinks. Put him beside bar. He himself falsely accused right people behind bar. Introduce heavy penalty so as no one dare to drink while drive. Also keep watch by superiors on sub-ordinate police officers whether they take any hafta.
Many times seen people flock near bars..taking 60 or 90 and drive. Some time even quarter according to penny at pocket. Sidda is after to introduce cheap liquor. Guddatta shuru aagu bahudu raste alli.
