Kasargod: 21-year-old woman held, hashish worth Rs 8 crore seized

Daijiworld Media Network - Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, Oct 9: A special investigation team of excise intelligence bureau, on Monday October 8, succeeded in arresting a woman who was trying to transport two kilograms of banned drug hashish to a foreign country. The team confiscated the drug from her possession at Palakkad.

The arrested lady has been identified as Sindhuja (21) from Olavakkode, Kanyakumari.

As per an estimate, the drug seized is worth Rs 8 crore in foreign countries.

The team, acting upon secret information they accessed, conducted an operation in Palakkad railway station. During the checking of her belongings, they found hashish having been rolled in plastic and hidden in her vanity bag.

The drug was being transported to Thrissur from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, officials stated. The lady told the officials during her questioning that her responsibility was to hand over the consignment to a person named Muhammed Jabir in Thrissur and that Jabir would arrange to send the same to Oman.

Sindhuja said she gets one lac rupees as remuneration for doing this, and that she has transported hashish to Thrissur 17 times from Visakhapatnam in this way in the past.

You are really a pedda Gunda.
At 21, you can lure a girl to get many things done easily. Not the same with 30 plus.
She would be absolutely telling truth after 10 years if she says she was framed.
Infact she is framed, lured by money or threats to carry out this job.

the present economic conditions of our country, especially after the worthless exercise of demonetization and GST, are driving young Indians to get into such cheap crimes.

The young Indians know that they have a PM, who is just lying over and over again and not delivering and enjoying his tenure by visiting all foreign countries.

Poor Sindhuja is an example of the misery this country is facing.

God Save our country from chaiwala and Daku chors

To get eye-popping headlines in the newspapers, the security agencies seem to give mind-boggling figures.

Although the article begins with "hashish worth Rs 8 crore seized", a little buried is the info "worth Rs 8 crore in FOREIGN COUNTRIES". Why should the Indian police bother about the prices in foreign countries?

So far as I understand, 2 kg hashish might fetch about 10 lakhs on the streets in India. But someone selling that quantity to a retail distributor may not get more than 5 lakhs.

So the substance would be valued about 5 lakhs!
