Mangaluru: BD, VHP oppose shortening of Dasara holidays for schools

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Sep 25: Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal members have condemned government’s decision of shortening Dasara holidays for schools this year.

Asserting that giving holidays for schools during Dasara was an old custom, they decried government circular of deducting holidays to make up for the holidays declared due to rain/natural calamities.

They have submitted a request to Dakshina Kannada district education officer urging to give Dasara holidays from October 7th till 21st as decided earlier and not to reduce holidays meant for Navaratri.

Bajrang Dal activists have alleged that the option given to schools to hold additional classes on Saturdays to enable teachers to complete syllabus, allowing freedom to schools to sanction Christmas holidays as they liked and reducing Navaratri festival holidays shows the government's double standards.

VHP divisional secretary Sharan Pumpwell, Mangaluru district president Jagadish Shenava, district president Gopal Kuthar, district secretary Shivanand Mendon, organiser Bhujanga Kulal and Pravin Kuthar were present.

Its seems readers are unnecessarily getting frustrated and post their comments, which is of no use at all. This will only create and promote religion based divisions among ourselves. Let us work together to promote peace, harmony and to bring unity.

When it comes to VHP and BD concerns, let them deal this with the government; they also have the right to approach court.

Regarding suggestion to conduct extra classes, let us not dictate what teachers should do... If it is only concern of completing the syllabus, teacher can do it, but at the cost of children. I mean to say, education quality will be affected and children will suffer. We send out children to school to get quality education.

If at all someone wants to have leave, let them take it, and either at the beginning or towards the end, parents can send a leave note, stating we did not send the children to school for certain reasons. In this situation, parents should shoulder the responsibility to cover the missing portion. as simple as that.

I feel this is more concerned for the parents, who spend huge amounts on education of children with a dream to make them better, mentally, socially, economically as a disciplined progressive individual. All wants holidays and parents will discuss and find solution.

BJP and all their sevakas can care less the value of education. If teachers are willing to teach - for heaves sake send those little ones to school.

Good education has NOT HURT ANYONE YET!!!!!!!!!!!

Lets educate our children - teaching the prevailing BJP/BJD/RSS mantra India is headed backwards!

Please wake up for the sake of our children! Their future is much more important than "street violence and street justice. A good education is what our children deserve!!

For Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh sister organisations of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal Dasara holidays is more important than the education of students who are future of India.

When Prime Minister, Union Minister and ABVP can have trust on 'fake degrees' do we really need schooling?

Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal Dasara wanted others childrens to be 'Pakora' sellers or 'Pan Shop' and rare milking cows. As long as next generation remains and fake new making rounds with ease votes can be secured.

Interestingly, most of BJP and RSS leaders send their children's abroad in prestigious abroad and here in India they want extended Dasara holiday despite first quarter of the academic year is washed out due rains.

Realities of modern life too much busy schedule. I wonder how BD can spare time.once education minister declared less holidays for dasara means deffinately due to certain reason.
specifically year 2018 due to heavy rain in coastal areas several holidays has been declared earlier and cover the school syllabus need holidays cut off no other option.
Why BD jelously want to involve and challenging with children's future even duffer also will understand reason behind less holidays.

At least our festival dates are known even though it is based on almanac and not on layman calendar .. We dont have the habit of postponing the festival last minute then still claim it as its all scientific.. so holidays can be planned during the start of financial year

I agree with your comment. However, this year many working days were lost due to the wrong declaration of the rain holidays. Now these lost days need to be compensated by cutting the number of mid term holidays, which is understandable...
